This vigorous upright perennial is peaked with loosely branching spikes laden with well-formed, hooded steel-blue flowers. The mid-green foliage is finely-divided and lobed into narrow sections.

Prefers partial shade and grows best in fertile, cool, moisture-retentive soil. Does well in the shady perennial border or wildgarden. Excellent cutflowers.
