This broad-formed, lower-growing monkshood is tipped with short spikes of large purple-blue hooded flowers. Beautifully thick and glossy, black-green leaves are deeply-divided into feather-shaped sections which curl gracefully downwards.
Prefers partial shade and grows best in fertile, cool, moisture-retentive soil. Does well in the shady perennial border or wildgarden. Excellent cutflowers.
